Setting up GCpad works, but not recognized once emulation starts

Title basically says it all. I have my controller set up and all the buttons correct. Here's a screencap of my gcpad. You should be able to see that I'm holding multiple buttons down, which shows that dolphin is recognizing the inputs. However, when I start an emulation I cannot get past start screens.
