V-Sync issue on linux

Hello all!

I am having an issue running animal crossing (only game I tested) when v-sync is on. The problem is, when I have my operating system (Manjaro KDE 18.1.0) resolution set to my Vizio tv's native resolution of 4k@30Hz, running dolphin with v-sync on makes animal crossing run at half the speed.

Before linux, I was running windows 10 and the behavior was different. I ran windows 10 at the native 4k@30hz resolution and when running animal crossing using vulkan at 4x native, with v-sync on, it was running at the correct speed.

I am able to bypass this by setting my operating system resolution to 1080p thus jumping back to 60hz, but then my desktop is a mess.

How to skip GCN Bios per game?

I'm using Dolphin 5.0-10758 as my main Dolphin version and I have the BIOS enabled, I really like seeing that nostalgic boot sequence. However, I'm required too use Ishiiruka 777(2d11f5fb1) for "Pikmin 1&2" for the HD textures custom material maps. These are the only 2 games I don't want the GameCube BIOS Boot sequence enabled for due to how Ishiiruka handles the gamecube boot-up, it's all corrupted with the video and sound. How do I just have Pikmin 1 and 2 not use the gamecube BIOS? I tried adding

SkipIPL=True
to the games config but Dolphin completely ignores it, when launching the game Dolphin still goes through the gamecube startup screen.. Anyway around this without having to keep disabling Skip BIOS when I want to play Pikmin using Ishiiruka? As I said previously the BIOS works perfectly using regular Dolphin, however I must use Ishiiruka for Pikmin 1&2 for the custom material maps for the HD texture pack.

Please help, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Updater.exe detected as Trojan

I just updated dolphin and everything went well until the updater tried to update itself, with the log reporting that the update failed.  I downloaded the latest build with the idea of manually replacing the updater.exe file but Windows Security is reporting the download as a threat as shown on the attached image.

Is this the typical false-positive that occurs with some emulation or PC gaming files, or could there really be an issue with the download?

Using symbolic directory links within texture packs

I used to be able to share one texture pack among several games without having to make multiple copies of it, by simply creating symbolic links to it.  Dolphin used to pick up those textures just fine, but I just noticed that this isn't working anymore.

Has something changed in the way dolphin retrieves files from texture packs or is the issue likely on my end?

Is there a way to enable speaker data through my headset ? I feel like it'd be something already in the emulator but I can't find anything about it anywhere ,not on google and not on my dolphin emulator's settings either ,there's only an option under ''real wiimotes'' in the settings which obviously didn't work with my headset ,I've seen it mentioned in a few places that it is possible but it just didn't work for me on both Super Mario Galaxy and Calling.

Using mouse cursor as Wiimote Cursor?

Hey folks, I don't really have any issues. I'm just curious as to whether there is a way to use the legit mouse cursor as a substitute for the Wiimote cursor instead? (Ex. When playing Super Mario Galaxy, star-cursor on screen is 1:1 with my mouse cursor movement, instead of always recentering?)

Custom Material Maps for Regular Dolphin?

Any hope to implement Custom Material Maps in regular Dolphin to prevent having to use buggy Ishiiruka? It's not like I'm asking for Phong Lighting and Auto Bumps, just Custom Material Maps is all. The feature uses Per-Pixel Lighting which regular Dolphin already has. I hate having to switch between regular Dolphin and Ishiiruka when ever I want to use Custom Material maps for just 1 game. Also, both emulators use the same Documents folder which is a big problem. Two of the bugs I found over using regular Dolphin is exiting full screen from a game will randomly cause the GPU backend to have a black screen while music still playing thus causing me to restart Ishiiruka Dolphin. 2nd issue is God Rays don't show up in caves if using resolution higher than native or using Anisotropic filtering.   Regular Dolphin didn't have any of the two issues listed above for Pikmin 2. Also, Ishiiruka doesn't even have the Cubeb audio backend which is required for proper 5.1 Audio according to the Dolphin wiki https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Dolby_Pro_Logic_II_decoder.

Below are threads with comments I made concerning Ishiiruka, it's bugs/problems, why it sharing the same exact configs as regular Dolphin is bad, and why it would really be beneficial to include Custom Material Maps in regular Dolphin so buggy Ishiiruka wouldn't be needed when using Custom Material Maps.

Is there a way to calculate hashes from original texture files?

Is there an easy way to calculate hashes (i.e. using the algorithm Dolphin uses for naming textures using the "Dump Textures" tool) for textures from original source files?

E.g. I have a bunch of .tpl files containing RGB5A3-format images.  It would be much easier to calculate hashes straight from the tpl files, as opposed to hunting for every texture to show up in-game.

Dolphin doesn't detect nunchuck input

Hello, I'm using the latest development version of dolphin (5.0-10943) and I can't really use the nunchuck w/ any games since it doesn't register any inputs I try to use w/ it, I've already tried unplugging and replugging it in, but it didn't help other than briefly giving some input in wii sports boxing and mario kart wii. In mario kart wii it sometimes automatically turns on its own or permanently faces the camera towards the character's front view. It is an official nintendo nunchuck.

DolphinBar mode 4 in Dolphin

I got the DolphinBar after good reviews describing it as a good sensor bar in a room setting. Just reporting my workarounds to the limitations I found, while using it.

I understand that the recent firmware turns off the IR LEDs to prolong their life, while not connected, but this makes the bar useless for Dolphin BT passthrough using another USB BT (as Dolphinbar's is not exposed to the system). Please read advanced usage in Bluetooth passthrough on Dolphin wiki, I used a generic USB BT adapter with VID 0A12 and PID 0001.

The KB and Mouse modes 1 & 2 are shaky while mode 3 has pointer input only when a nunchuck is connected and still no motion input despite the manual stating that there is gyro input in this mode.

I recommend using xpadder or Joy2Key to remap mode 3 for a quick fix to the odd default mapping of modes 1 or 2.

Mode 4 works in Dolphin with continuous scan on real Wiimote option and turning off speaker data, don't forget to run Dolphin as admin for this use - never could find this little info on the forum, only by trial and error.

I couldn't get a second Wiimote to connect in Dolphin on mode 4 using the Dolphinbar but I did work around it, using mode 3 and losing motion input in the process.

The github project touchmote was a better alternative to the factory set modes making mode 4 a substitute to modes 1 or 2 or even 3 and adding XYZ rotation input from the Wiimote and nunchuck to the emulated X360 or mouse and KB controller, while supporting multiple connected Wiimotes.

In conclusion, the closest thing you get to a real Wiimote experience with the DolphinBar as far as I experienced is a single-player mode 4 in Dolphin, which is a dated connection method, considering the emulated Wiimote has been largerly replaced by BT passthrough method. If you know any other workaround I missed please add as I found this bar to have very poor documentation. Thanks.

GameCube advanced control help needed

I'm trying to configure some advanced controls for a GameCube game and I'm having some trouble. The game uses `B` and `X` in combination with d-pad up/down to select weapons (`B` secondary, `X` primary). I want to use `WASD` as d-pad input and movement, and to substitute `X` and `B` with `Q` & `R` but I don't want the weapon selection to come up while moving forward or backwards when I press `Q` or `R`. Example, with `R & W` as d-pad up I need to hold `R` to bring up the selection menu and press `W` to navigate up. I tried `!W (R & W)` to do this but it just breaks the menu for selecting weapons. Is this possible to pull of?

I tried playing Twilight Princess(Gamecube) on my Moto G7!!

Well I can get at least 24-25 FPS in the title screen, however it just runs at 9-11 FPS as I enter the main game...

Can someone please help!!
