Do later Dolphin versions have higher CPU requirements?

$

I'm new to Dolphin, running an old i5 processor (2500k) with a new graphics card (rx 480). So far the results on gamecube games have been underwhelming, and I'm exploring the different tweaks I can do. I'm running on 5.0 right now, but I'm curious if the CPU requirements are lower if I explored a 4 build, or 3 or 3.5. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

A laptop (avell.com.br/titanium-w1513-iron) equipped with i5 7300HQ and GTX 1050 is enough to play NGC and Wii in dolphin? (games: Super Smash Bros.  Brawl, Mario Kart and Monster Hunter series)

The i7 would bring some advantage?

I want to play Wind Waker with a GC controller connected via the official Wii U adapter (native Dolphin driver method) and my keyboard/mouse at the same time.

How may I tell Dolphin to use both controllers for the same port?

Hi all

I noticed that the Heatseeker page was a bit bare, so I've updated a few bits on it. Anyone else here been playing Heatseeker on Dolphin 5.0? Seems to run really well but has a bit of stuttering when boosting real fast. Would be good to know if anyone has some tips for getting that smoothed out.

PS4 controller suddenly stopped working with dolphin

I've been using this ps4 controller for at least a week without any issue and suddenly it won't work with dolphin specifically. It works on the desktop, in other games such as Witcher 3, etc. I'm using DS4windows and everything works well, but I can't seem to make dolphin recognize it anymore. I've searched google, but most posts are about people who haven't set up ds4 or were never able to use it in Dolphin beforehand.

Any help would be appreciated.

Budget Computer Build

Ok, so I came up with these final two options for a new budget build:

CPU: Pentium G3258 (Overclocked to ~4.2Ghz)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050
PSU: EVGA 430W
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33
RAM: DDR3 4/8GB

Or

CPU: Pentium G4620 (Seems to be identical to the i3-6100 and includes hyperthreading)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050
PSU: EVGA 430W
Motherboard: MSI B250M
RAM: DDR4 4/8GB

I'm still trying to keep this a budget build though so I wasn't isure f the extra money for the newer parts was worth it. Also, is there a GPU which is maybe a bit cheaper which can still handle 3xIR?

Projecting games from my desktop PC to my TV

I recently got a 50" Roku TV and want to attempt to project the screen from the PC to the TV. Considering that the Roku TV can display it, is it possible to actually do this? I want to do this for both my PC games and my emulators so that people don't have to hunch around my PC if they want to play a game. Also, things are just more attention grabbing with a 50" screen than a 23"-27" monitor.Smile Also, I don't want a thick HDMI cable running across the room to try and do this. Hence, why I am looking into projecting the screen in some fashion.

Thanks in advance!

Another Stuttering Problem

I know I've posted the same thing a while back, but after not using Dolphin for months and updated to the latest NVIDIA driver, the stutters are back again. Yes, I do know that every time I update drivers and/or use different builds of Dolphin does the whole Shader Compilation thing, but it wasn't this bad before and now there are stutters coming in every 1-2 seconds like before when I had the same problem again. Not even Ishiiruka's Async Shader Compilation works as the stutters still show up just as noticeable and quite as often. Help?

Edit 2: Another problem that came up is that I can't seem to play Super Mario Sunshine or Sonic Colors using the 60fps Gecko Codes. I try to run them both, but they both just show a black screen. They start working again once I disable the code.

Hello guys.

Not sure how many people actually got this problem with the PAL gamecube bios, but I receive that error when getting into the PAL bios.

Its really annoying since the actual bios works, but I just get that error beforehand.

Anybody know how common this is and how to fix it?

Best Dolphin Settings?

Hi Everyone,

I recently downloaded Dolphin 5.0 (Latest Nightly Build) in order to play Skyward Sword in HD before Breath of the Wild comes out.

Unfortunately, I'm getting sporadic lag spikes along with audio crackle/static (During Cinematics, Cutscenes, Title Screens, New Areas etc.) I've tried everything to fix this but I'm just completely baffled as to why the top of the line ultra powerful Gaming Rig I built myself is having problems with Dolphin. (I've tried Ishiiruka, and while it had no problems with Lag Spikes and Performed better then Dolphin it had constant audio static/crackle which I couldn't fix/stand)

I've tried IR set to 1080p, 2K, 4K, and 5K, mixed with various SSAA levels (But unfortunately SSAA seems to tank my performance while IR does not) I also always set Anisotropic Filtering to 16, and enable Scaled EFB Copy, Per-Pixel Lighting, Force Texture Filtering, and Force 24-bit Color. (Does Dolphin do Exclusive Fullscreen anymore because it seems to just do Borderless Fullscreen now.)

Here are my Specs:
  • Windows 10 64-bit
  • Intel i7-6700K 4.00 GHz
  • G.SKILL TridentZ Series 32GB DDR4 3000
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked w/ACX Cooler 6GB
  • BenQ XL2420G 144hz Monitor
  • EVGA 850 GQ 80+ GOLD, 850W
  • Gigabyte GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 Mini-ITX Motherboard
  • Corsair Hydro Series Cooling H75 Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
  • Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD USB Audio System with Phono Preamp
  • Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD - For Main System
  • 3 WD Black 6TB Performance Desktop Hard Drives - For Storage
So based off of my Specs what would the Optimal settings for Dolphin be? (For Quality) Please be as specific as possible. Thanks!
