the wrist. Wrist wrap keeps the wrist Max Strong XL straight. Thus, it reduces hyperextension caused by lifting. It helps protect the wrist during exercise like CrossFit that requires lots of repetitions, where focus is drawn towards fast movement rather than keeping the wrist in the right position; this may cause wrist stress or strain. During weightlifting, repetitions can be limited due to poor grip. Using wrist wraps provides good .

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

So, I was trying to find the best looking set up for my computer in this game and I found some strange behavior?

First my specs:
Pentium G4560
16GB RAM
GTX780
4K Samsung TV
---------------------
So I started out by setting up Shader compilation to Synchronized (Ubershaders), 6x IR + 2x SSAA + 16x AF and all enhancements turned on except for the Widescreen Hack and I installed Hypathia's Texture pack and prefetched it turned on Crop and also set up a Widescreen AR code, this of course gives a very very crisp game with full speed at all times (at least at the starting island, haven't looked any further yet)

Then I thought to see what happens when I turned off Scaled EFB copies -> This made the front part of the game look very crisp but the back part of the game look like 1x IR with enourmous jaggies (aliasing), this made me realize the game does some sort of Depth of Field.

So I decided to go all the way back to 1x IR, but I turned on 8xSSAA, this indeed makes the front part of the game very crisp again, and gives a nice DoF effect without the aliasing even with scaled EFB on, which is completely gone at Higher IR's. And the texture pack still shows a huge improvement over the original textures.

In short:
The imo "best" Gamecube version of the game (so you don't miss any effects afaik) uses the following settings:

-Hypathia's Texture pack prefetched
-16x9 aspect ratio cheatcode + Crop turned on
-All enhancements on except for Widescreen Hack and Disable fog.
-1x (or Native) IR (Internal Resolution)
-16x Anisotropic Filtering
-8xSSAA
-Synchronous (Ubershader) Shader compilation

This even runs 100% speed on my GTX750

Now my question would be: is this something that can be fixed so that the DoF effect is still visible at higher IR's but at a higher quality compared to 1x IR (it still is quite jaggy at the back, but made to look a lot better) by maybe changing the scaled EFB by a Cheatcode to 3xIR or so?

Hi my pc specs are

RX480 8gb overclocked

i5-8600k @4.0ghz. (i don't have the need to overclock)

8GB of ddr4 g skill rip jaws at 3000mhz

250gb ssd (for games)

1tb sshd (more games)

1 m.2 ssd (windows)

650 watt psu

and a gigabyte gaming motherboard (can't remember the name right now.)

Well i was just wondering if i could run games like Xenoblade chronicles of smg 1 and 2 or f zero x at 4k with exclusive ubershaders on. i know i can run them with hybrid but i have not tried since i am waiting for my i5-8600k in the mail. Big Grin

Feature request/idea: "Update Now" button.

An "update now" button for the Dolphin auto-updater?

I haven't used the auto-updater because I prefer, out of habit, to run as few "automatic" or "background" tasks as possible. Obviously these days computers are so powerful it doesn't really matter, but I still like the idea.

Some thoughts/tl;dr tirade:

-I wonder if it could be a drop-down option within the current options list for Don't Update/Stable/Beta/Dev for the greatest simplicity of implementation?

-May increase downloads/bandwidth costs from users like me who don't want to run background tasks, but are deterred from frequently updating by the comparative hassle of using a web browser, extracting archives, etc.

-May decrease downloads from users who don't want to play on older versions for whom Dev is the most appealing, but don't open Dolphin several times a day to really notice those minute differences. I guess they'd have to want to bother opening the Config Tab, though, which is unlikely as it's less convenient.

-Which is it - Config or Settings? I click the "Config" button, but the "Settings" window opens  Big Grin

Also curious if the auto-update stats are being tracked and what the usage is - I'm sure you don't have billions of users (yet), but if bandwidth could conceivably become a concern as more people move to QT and Dolphin becomes more popular, and it looks like everyone is choosing "Dev", and it's set up to where every client sends their update request at the exact same times every day...An "update now" button on the home screen would be a less attractive but functional balance of convenience and bandwidth in such a case, I think.
Thanks if you read this far! I sincerely appreciate everyone's contributions here in time and typing!

Windows alert chime sound when using keyboard

Just like the subject says.  If I use the keyboard for inputs, or even if I use a controller but press a hotkey on the keyboard while a game is running, the Windows chime sounds on every keystroke.

Does anybody know what causes this?
I can simply turn Windows sounds off but if this is triggering something on the OS and there is a solution, I would like to apply it.

Thanks.

Qt GUI font messed up and minor visual issue

The Qt GUI font has been messed up very recently. The majority of people won' see it, as it only effects people who used custom Windows font size, and speclty in bold.

I have increased the Windows system font size, and made it bold. Before in Dolphin, all texts were normal, but now some of them are using the system one, which I have set to bold. As much as I like bold, in Dolphin it should stay normal, because when you open the setting window when running a game that has specific options modified by their ini, it will be displayed in bold, so we can clearly identify them.

Also, a very minor visual annoyance, I didn't want to make a sperate thread for this. There's orange dots surrounding the game name in the game list when selected. See if you can do something about it spycrab, needless to say that it's not a priority :

Xinput not showing up in devices

The Xinput won't show up under devices in the controller menu. I'm using a Wii U Pro Controller connected through WiinUPro, which is supposed to let you use a Wii U pro controller as an Xbox 360 controller. I have used this method for a while now but recently after getting a new pc, it no longer shows up under 'devices'. Any help would be... uh... helpful.

android emulator. The emulator is fine, i just cant find my games even when downloaded. Please help.

Nvidia Shield Tablet (not compatible)

I'm new to the forum but started using Dolphin around last year. One thing I've always wondered is why the Dolphin isn't compatible with the Nvidia Shield Tablet. From my understanding, it is available for the Nvidia Shield (the Android TV box). So, why can't it be available for the Tablet? It's a very capable system (more so than most phones even today).

I've downloaded the APK directly from the website, but every time it goes to install it says "This app isn't compatible with your phone."

If anyone knows if there is a link to the answer, it would be greatly appreciated.

Vulkan adapter settings not sticking

I can't seem to select a different adapter for the Vulkan backend without changing it manually in the config files.

I open the graphics settings, select Vulkan, choose my dedicated card, close the window using the "Close" button, close Dolphin, restart it, open the graphics settings, and it's back to the integrated card (or whichever one is first in the list).

Manually editing the GFX.ini file to point to the correct adapter makes it stuck on that one instead.

The WxWidgets UI works fine and Notepad++ is telling me no changes are written to the file before Dolphin is closed, and even after closing Dolphin and changing another setting alongside the adapter it's still not updating the ini file.

Does the Android emulator need a specefic file type to be able to register it(ROMS). Can't find ROMS when searching through the emulator's file manager, but i can normally from my phone file manager.

sudden issue with official Wii U adapter

hi, i've been using the official wii u gc controller adapter on the melee netplay build of dolphin (5.8.7) for a little while now, but the controller has suddenly stopped working. this happened while i was playing and i have no idea why. i tried to reinstall the driver with zadig but with no success. dolphin seems to still be able to see the adapter, but inputs don't work. this issue is present across multiple relatively new controllers. i receive an error message upon entering a game that says:

There is a potential problem with your GameCube Adapter and inputs are being set to their default position to prevent unintended inputs. If you want, you can turn this off in [Config] > [Advanced Options]

turning it off yields no results.

as i was writing this, i tried downloading the latest dev release of dolphin (5.0-7409) to see what would happen. this version doesn't detect my wii u adapter at all, so i'm guessing that the original version of dolphin detecting it is a small glitch of some kind. however, zadig still seems to be able to see my adapter and install drivers to it, even after moving usb slots. any help would be appreciated, thank you.

[OS X/macOS] OpenGL issues.

So, I already read the blog entry on Dolphin's Blog, stating "If you see this message, there is nothing we can do to improve your device's performance, it just doesn't support critical features that Dolphin needs. Please ask your device manufacturer for updated drivers with Buffer Storage enabled."

Well, for the most part they are right, but I'm wondering if they're using the right profile, with the right framework.
You see, Apple is terrible at updating their Video Backends (outside of Metal), Seeing how Their latest drivers (including Nvidia's) only still support OpenGL 4.1 (and partially 4.2).

So, because Dolphin (and most 3D games really) in macOS do not use Metal at all, and instead use OpenGL, I find myself wondering if they're using the Core profile for OpenGL, or defaulting to Compatibility, because Compatibility for some reason always throws driver support to OpenGL 2.1, and for what I've read here, and here, in order to support those new features, they have to use Cocoa, which seems to be a framework of some sorts, allowing for these new features to work.

I'm writing mainly to understand this, because this is the same issue in macOS, with other cross-platform games like Minecraft, unable to use OpenGL 4.1 because they're tied to compatibility mode.

A conversation on how we can workaround and potentially help fix this nonsense would be nice.

Maybe a Metal Backend? or even better, MoltenGL!.
