Trying to a burned .iso of Mario Kart Wii but I controls don't work!

So I'm trying to emulate Mario Kart Wii but it won't pick up any of the buttons I pick. I have the controller on the emulated Wiimote but the game will not pick up any of it's configurations no matter what they are changed to.

Please advise.
