Xenoblade Chronixles freeze

So I was playing Xenoblade on Dolphin, and at one specific early point of the game, Shulk decides to glitch out and the game's visuals freeze, but the audio continues playing at 60% speed. Whilst it's in this state, I can still freely reload any save-states I have, but I can't close Dolphin unless I force it to close.

Video of issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh9xB9efBGU&feature=youtu.be

I have Windows 10, a GTX 1060 GPU, Intel i5 8400 2.8-3.82 GHz, 16GB of RAM and Dolphin 5.0-11333

Thank you for your time Smile

Game ini issues

Hello

I’m having a horrible time trying to configure games using gameini.

I’ve looked at this thread, and unless I’m missing something, I don’t see the answer.
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-howto-using-gameini-settings-per-game

When I open the properties for a specific game and select edit config I get a blank ini file in notepad. I’m adding the line that I need (PadProfile1 = profilename) and it creates the file and stores it in user\username\documents\dolphin emulator\gamesettings. They don’t seem to have any effect, and when I close dolphin they disappear. I’m thinking that maybe what should be happening is that when I select edit config, I should be seeing are the ini files that resides in ProgramFiles\Dolphin\Sys\Gamesetting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dolphin won't launch on Shield TV Pro 2019

According to this video Dolphin should work on the Shield TV Pro 2019, and he shows it working: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpOVxKtM-Nc

However, after the initial storage permission request, which I granted, it just keeps closing instantly. Can't even get it to display the UI.

Has anyone else got it working? What version did you use?
I tried with the latest from the download page (currently 5.0-11452), maybe there is some compatibility issue with more recent versions, as that video was from October.

Wii remote (motion plus inside) won't stay connected for more than a few seconds

I have a Wii motion plus inside Wii remote (though oddly enough it doesn't have the TR at the end.) It works perfectly fine for a few seconds using the"Passthrough a Bluetooth adapter" option until the wii remote disconnects after about 15-20 seconds. I've tried a fresh pair of batteries and I can tell you that's not the problem either.

I can't find out any specifics of what kind of Bluetooth adapter I have either, it just shows up as "Intel® Wireless Bluetooth®".

Heads up--lates build doesn't work

Hi, I thought I'd let you know that when I updated Dolphin, I received the following error:

---------------------------
Dolphin.exe - System Error
---------------------------
The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I knew better than to update, but I was curious. I will probably reinstall, but I just wanted to let you guys know. Thanks!

No Input Detection for Specific Titles

Greetings, anyone and everyone.  Let me preface this post by saying I have visited the FAQ section and browsed through pages of this section before posting this.

I am encountering an issue where I am unable to use certain titles, [specifically the Wii System Menu and the Mii Channel] because Dolphin is not registering any input from my controller [which is what I primarily use].  I have always used a bluetooth adapter to wirelessly connect my Xbox One controller with no issues.

However, if I try to play something like Mario Kart Wii, it detects the input from my controller perfectly fine and I am able to play.

When I attempt to load the Wii System Menu or the Mii Channel, it indeed loads, but I am left stuck on the "Press A to continue" screens.

To attempt to rectify this issue, I have tried the following:
-Only having the port in use enabled in the GC Config section of Dolphin
-Re-configuring the controls after said titles were launched
-Clean installing Dolphin and repeating the above steps

Attached is a screenshot of my button mapping for Mario Kart Wii, which always works.

If anyone is able to shed some light on any possible user errors, I would appreciate the feedback very much.  Also, as a side note, I apologize for formatting and if this specific issue has been solved and I have missed it.

I've been trying to play Super Paper Mario on Dolphin recently, and it would just keep crashing when I opened a save file. I have Bounding Boxes enabled, and I've tried switching the renderer, but nothing's changed. My Dolphin version I got this crash on is 5.0-11452.

Cheat search has issues

$

In newer dev builds, cheat search has lost what was probably the most important feature it had: being able to compare against previous value. Without this, cheat search is monumentally less useful in many instances, to the point where I still find myself regularly using 5.0 just for this feature.

Another problem is cheat search seemingly has no way to search MEM2 on Wii games. I get that AR codes can't use MEM2, but cheat search is still such an important part of reverse engineering in general, and Gecko codes CAN make use of MEM2, so it's not even entirely useless in the cheat code department. This one has caused me some personal headache of looking for a value before deciding to just dig around in assembly for a while to find it being exactly what I thought it was, just in MEM2.

These two things would make Dolphin so much better for reverse engineering and modding games.

BSOD with Bluetooth Passthrough

Hi, I haven't used Dolphin in a while, but last year we were playing Mario Party daily, without issues. I've been using a DIY-Bluetooth adapter from a real wii. I soldered it together following the guide https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-how-to-wire-a-wii-s-bluetooth-module-to-a-pc-usb-port

So everything is still the same as last year, except that I did update to the latest version 5-11455 .

So I launched Mario Party 8 (but it's the same with every game!) and I get a BSOD. kmode exception not handled .

Only happens with bluetooth passthrough and with the bluetooth adapter plugged in, if I unplug it, I simply get a message that no bluetooth adapter was found.

How can I fix this?

specs:
2080 Ti
9700k - no overclock
asus prime z390
dolphin version 5-11455

EDIT:

I have downloaded an older version, the one we used when it still worked last year. The version is dolphin-master-5.0-2341-x64 - I can confirm that the very same Adapter I use ( DIY soldered original bluetooth module with libusbk driver) works. So it is the difference in version that causes the BSOD.

Dolphin freezes when opening Controller Settings

When I open the Controller Settings in the Dolphin main screen, the app freezes completely and has to be force-quitted.

Things I've tried to do: Resetting the config files, upgrading Dolphin versions, rebooting the computer.

If it helps, I use Dolphin 5.0-11455 on an iMac running macOS Mojave 10.14.6

WFS USB Passthrough for Dragon Quest X

Is it possible to enable USB Passthrough for a physical WFS USB device (as opposed to emulating a WFS device) so that a USB drive could be used back and forth between emulator and hardware when playing Dragon Quest X?

If not, is there any way to transfer content between the decrypted Dolphin format and a USB drive?

GPD XD Plus Performance

I have a specific Dolphin Android software issue on the GPD XD Plus. This is a device that has the CleanROM firmware on it, courtesy of r/gpdxd. With certain games, specifically "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door", Dolphin crashes before getting into gameplay, even with the config file changed, shown in This Video. Also should be noted that Vulkan does not work at all on the XD Plus. Considering how light Paper Mario TTYD is, I'm certain that the GPD XD Plus can run it. I'm wondering if this is a software issue that can be patched to heavily optimize performance on the XD Plus.
Thanks for responses.

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Using the Widescreen Gecko code 042EA1A0 3FE38E39 with aspect ratio set to Auto causes Dolphin to rapidly switch between the game's native 4:3 and the patch's 16:9 when the camera is at certain angles (the hallway in this case).

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Apply the Gecko code
Set aspect ratio to Auto
Happens within 5 seconds of the very first level

Turning the Gecko code off, or setting the aspect ratio to force 16:9 or force 4:3 seems to avoid the issue.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Which redistributables do I need to run Dolphin?

Why is the speed variable on 2016 top devices?

$

On such devices as the Honor 8 (FRD-L09) with Kirin 950 and 4GB RAM, the games' performance is so variable.

Old versions (from 5.0-4xxx to 5.0-60xx)

Madagascar - half native speed (1 in-game second = 2 real-time seconds)

Sonic Adventure 2 - native speed (in some scenes it lowers to half- or quarter-native)

Latest versions (from 5.0-61xx to 5.0-11xxx)

Madagascar - eighth-native speed (weihuoya's MMJ-builds have quarter-native speed in that game)

Sonic Adventure 2 - half- or quarter-native speed (in some scenes it lowers to eighth-native), the Vulkan backend speeds that game up to native or half-native speed, but the screen flickers crazily when Sonic is running

Need for Speed: Most Wanted - half-native speed (overclocking to 40% makes the speed close to native)

Need for Speed: Carbon (Wii) - quarter-native speed (overclocking to 40% makes the speed close to half-native)

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg - eighth-native speed

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa - half-native speed (overclocking to 40% makes the speed close to native)

Need for Speed: Underground 2 - eighth-native speed (overclocking to 40% and disabling Sync on Skip Idle and JIT follow branch on weihuoya's MMJ-builds makes the speed close to half-native)

Shrek the Third - quarter-native speed (disabling Sync on Skip Idle and JIT follow branch on weihuoya's MMJ-builds makes the speed close to native)
