Custom Textures not working

$

Using 4.0-9171, but I've also tried it with 4.0.

I'm trying to use Custom Texture edits with the game Rhythm Heaven Fever, for now just pretty simple stuff. Especially the first edit should be noticeable.

This is what the folder structure is like, and here's a screenshot of my Advanced GFX settings:

Now, dumping the textures worked pretty much perfectly and they got dumped to Documents/Dolphin EMulator/Dump/Textures/SOME01/. However, for some reason the custom textures I tried aren't getting loaded.

Additionally, the Texture Cache's accuracy is set to Safe.

Knowing me it's probably a super dumb mistake tho.

I decided to port Hypatia's wind waker texture pack to Twilight Princess. The pack is intended for the PAL version but it can be used on other versions by renaming the GZ2P01 folder to GZ2E01 for NTSC  or GZ2J01 for NTSC-J.

Hypatia's website can be found here.

What is mostly done:
  • Grass
  • Rock
  • Paths
  • Some of the wood textures

What is the purpose of 'Unknown' in the Cheat Manager search?

$

From what I can tell, originally designed to help scan for something you dont know - which would be great. But with the options you have now (Unknown/Equal/Greater Than/Less Than/Not Equal), as soon as you start searching for an unknown, you're sort of stuck. There's no increment search, or even just a "changed" or "not changed", so you lose it as soon as you search for it.

Ultimately, I have a value in a game I know, but it gets added to some value that I DONT know. I want to try and find that value, but searching for an unknown value wont allow me to search again for if that value has increased by 3 or 4, I'd just search for a greater than (but I dont know what the value is).

Any suggestions for finding an unknown value?

Can Dolphin IMPROVE some games' performance without hacks or settings?

I was under the impression that under normal circumstances, a game running in Dolphin can only perform as well as it runs on the actual console. If a game is locked to 30 fps on the Gamecube or Wii, it will be locked to 30 fps in Dolphin as well. If certain conditions cause a game to drop frames when running on a Gamecube or Wii, the same conditions should result in the loss of frames in Dolphin as well. As far as I know, the only 2 ways to get around this are to use game specific hacks, which remove a game's framerate lock to allow it to run as fast as the system can handle, and to Enable CPU clock override, which will overclock the emulated processor to allow games to run at a faster framerate as long as their framerate isn't locked.

I recently tested out the Wii version of Far Cry: Vengeance (don't ask...), and was surprised to find that the game has an unlocked framerate in Dolphin. The framerate is pretty unstable, typically varying from 40-50 fps during shootouts and from 50-60 fps when walking around with no enemies onscreen in the outdoor environments, but in indoor areas it actually holds 60 fps fairly well, even during firefights. I don't think the framerates are being reported incorrectly as the game is clearly running above 30 fps. The thing is, I cannot find any documentation to suggest that the game runs at an unlocked framerate which often approaches 60 fps. A developer stated in a pre-release interview that the game was locked at 30 fps, and reviews at the time noted that the game often drops below 30. Is it possible that Dolphin is improving the framerate even though I am not overriding the CPU or using any other type of speed hack? Or is it more likely that the game actual runs this well on the Wii and the information suggesting otherwise is incorrect?

AR codes not working

I can't seem to get AR codes to work with Zelda Collector's Edition. They aren't working with ANY of the games in the Collector's Edition. I DO have "Enable Cheats" selected. Am I doing something wrong? This is Dolphin 4.0 9173 on 64 bit Windows 10.

trouble trying to configure a hotkey

I haven't really messed with trying to re configure any of the hotkeys until today.  First off i'll say that i'm using Dolphin 4.0-9171.  I'm namely trying to configure the hotkey for "reset."

It was not configured before i started messing around.  Basically i'm trying to tell the emulator that holding down the left control key and pressing R will "reset" the emulator.  Below is a screenshot of what I have it currently set up as, maybe someone can tell me whats wrong.

Random Lagspikes

Ok so this has been going on for a while now. When playing a game on Dolphin Emulator after one minute or so, my fps drops down by 3. But when I go into another window and come back, it goes back up to its normal fps then after about 3 seconds it's dips back down by 3-5fps. Is there any way to fix this?
Sorry if I missed a thread about this.

I have been playing a gamecube game (naruto gekitou ninja taisen 4) on version 3.0 which was working fine at 50-60 fps. then i went ahead and installed PokePark 2 for the wii and while it started up perfectly i got multiple error messages, now i installed Dolphin 4.0.2 and while PokePark 2 worked perfectly it was running slow. then i tried the gamecube game which i mentioned earlier and it was very laggy as well. i'd like to play PokePark 2 on 50-60 fps if possible.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Slowdown

I've run this game on this Laptop before at almost always 100% 60FPS, besides the natural drops here and there. But now, the game will start, possibly run at 60 FPS, but more often it will run at about 30, then speed up to 60, then back down to 30. There's no real indication to what causes it, as it'll happen at any point- A level, cutscene, and even when idling on the title screen. Please help?

Pikmin HD texture project

Hello!
After lurking here for years, silently bemoaning the lack of an HD texture pack for Pikmin, here's my first attempt to make my own.
Please note that this is for the Gamecube version, not Wii!

Level 1 starts to look ok now, and I'm just starting work on level 2. I've gone over a few HUD elements but most are still undone. This is a side project so it may take a long time to finish it, but any feedback is most welcome since this is my first try at retexturing. Most base textures are either from my own photo collection or from free texture sites. Enjoy!

Note that this texture pack contains 4k and even 8k textures, and will likely cause stuttering unless you have loads of RAM.

Progress:

Level 1 - The Impact Site:      80%
Level 2 - The Forest of Hope: 10%
Level 3 - The Forest Navel:    0%
Level 4 - The Distant Spring:  0%
Level 5 - The Final Trial         0%
Front-End:                            10%
HUD:                                   10%

Multiple instances of PSO I&II...?

Hey!

I am fooling around with computers and stuff at a new place I moved into, trying to figure out what all I need. For kicks, I just tried running two instances of Dolphin and booting PSO I&II (Plus) on each. It worked.

With limited testing, I was able to play both games at 30FPS on maxed out settings (4x Internal Res, etc) on this GTX 750 Ti.

I was wondering if it's feasible for me to run four instances of PSO I&II (Plus) and connect to one of the online servers, then play locally with my friends. We totally could just split screen the game on one Dolphin instance, but you lose a fair amount of content by playing offline.

Does this sound like it could work? Any advice on setting it up?

Failed to compile vertex shader error in OpenGL

I recently uninstalled AMD's Crimson 16.3.1 beta driver, and reinstalled their latest stable Crimson Driver 15.12, because 16.3.1 is incompatible with the Wii-U emulator Cemu.
Now whenever I try to run a game in Dolphin using OpenGL I get these error messages:

I tried going back to previous Dolphin builds, but it still get these error windows.

Should I just reinstall the 16.3.1 beta driver, or is there a way to fix this while staying on 15.12?

Best Dolphin version for Windows x86?

I'm trying to get Dolphin running on my 32 bit Windows, but all the recent version of the client seem to only be x64, and the "stable ones" seem to be a little older than what is supported by most guides I'm seeing.

I just wanna play Melee on my laptop. Sad

I'm also trying to get my (Official Wii U) Gamecube adapter working along with Dolphin, so support for that also is a must.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Mario Party 6 HD Texture Pack/Mod

Hello everyone! Smile I'm brand new to the forums here, but over the course of the last month or so I have (very) gradually edited some textures in the Mario Party Gamcube games. I really didn't plan on releasing it or anything, but I felt maybe someone else would find it useful. I'm only releasing Mario Party 6 Textures for now, because that's the most "Complete", but if anyone wants what I have for 5 or 7 just let me know. Again, it's nothing amazing, definitely a WIP.

Also, I realize in a lot of these I didn't stay very "true" to the original design, that's why I put "mod" in the title. I honestly just made these for for myself so I didn't really focus on truly upgrading the original textures in a "pure" unadulterated way.
