Suggest me a Dolphin Portable PC

Hey everyone. I wanted to get a laptop for Dolphin that also works as a general gaming laptop but that's small and portable and the same time. Basically, on a budget of 400 dollars at the most, I am looking for a laptop that is:

Less than 13 inches
Runs GC and Wii games at decent speeds
Runs PC games such as Arkham series at decent speeds
Is flip screen to get keyboard out of sight
Preferably touch screen

I don't know if anything exists in this price range but I thought I would ask and see it anything like this was out there.

Thanks

What does WXInputBase.cpp do?

As a translator, I found many strings, like "Decimal", have diffrent meanings in Source/Core/DolphinWX/WXInputBase.cpp and in other files. More specifically, they lies in the "WXKeyToString" function.
Then, trying to find which meaning is used more often, I searched "WXKeyToString" on github and found it only appearing in WXInputBase.cpp and WXInputBase.h. Furthermore, the other function in that file, "WXKeymodToString", also appears only in that two files.
Does that mean the function is no longer used and it's ok to ignore those meanings? If not, where is it used?

I need some DESPERATE help on MULTIPLE different things

Alright everyone. This will be long and somewhat ramble-y, so I apologize in advance, and want to say that I appreciate any and all help that can be given.

So I recently set up Dolphin for my fiance. As I was browsing the Dolphin webpage I saw that you could now go on to the Wii Shopping channel! "WHATTTTT?!" I Said. I immediately set out to learn how to get this amazing emulator to do this wonderful feat. I downloaded 5.0-2874, so I KNOW the capability should be there.

I then followed the basic network setup listed here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Wii_Network_Guide. The one that the DEV team said to follow. I followed it to a T and nothing went wrong or abnormal while doing that.

I installed the newest version of my system menu from NUSD v1.9 (V513) onto dolphin, as well as the EULA (just in case?) which I accepted. I got the Mii Channel AND the shopping channel (both of which are newest versions for america) and launched the shop channel......Which brought me right back to the Wii Menu...."Weird" I thought. So I tried it with the Mii Channel to the exact same outcome. "Oh it must be cause I'm not connected to my internet through the system menu!" I then went in, connected it to my internet, and after doing so it said "System update is available" "Hey great, I saw them update in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHJ0Nw20row), so I must be doing something righ...what the fuck is error 32004...."

I went in and pushed my MTU's to 1500, and I have stellar internet. NOTHING is working and allowing me to update or fix these problems. I went and did some digging (because I don't like asking for help) and got some indicators that maybe I need to set up a correct NAND path? "A...A what?!" Back to this page: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/nand-usage-guide/. Well that page was basically German to me, and I was unsure of what to do. "Oh, maybe I need to install this homebrew channel thing so I can follow the next steps...." to keep a long story short, after hours of tinkering, I learned that doesn't fucking work and probably will never.

In the Emulator, if you go to Config > Paths near the bottom it says Wii NAND Root.....WHERE DO I POINT THAT?! Do I need that for the channels/"update" to work?! DO I EVEN UPDATE?! I want to be able to go online and for those channels NOT to send me back to the Wii Menu. I know how to make a bigger SD card to mount inside of the emulator but that hasn't seemed to help.

Can SOMEONE please help me do this? What the HELL do I need to do? What am I doing wrong?!

tl;dr Channels aren't loading, need help

Struggling to get 60fps with hd smooth graphics and clear sound

Hey guys,
First post

I've been doing a lot of tweaking and research for the last 2 days and man I've been scratching my head a lot.
The games I've been trying to play are Mario Galaxy 1,2, Sonic Colors and Xenoblade.
I've watched videos where people are getting a smooth 60/30fps depending on the game and smooth 1080p hd graphics with or without the HD texture mods.
I took a look at their specs and I think I have better specs than what they had but still mine doesn't look or perform as well so I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong here.
For backend I've tried opengl, dx11/d12. for enhancements internal res i've tried native and 3x, sonic looks more smooth at native but blurry.
In config i've tried enabling and disabling dual core .
I'm watching these sonic videos where it looks super smooth and clean sound.
With all the games I've tried I'm getting static interference with the sound.
Can someone please advice if I'm missing something here?

Thanks

Trying to build the most budget station possible for wii at native resolution

Maybe build isn't the right word for it, since I've been seriously eyeballing those off lease from business desktops that are constantly on craigslist and ebay. The one I've been looking at has an i5 3470 at 3.2ghz and 8gb of DDR3 along with Intel HD2500 graphics. I'm just trying to make a cheap box for someone who currently plays n64 games on the original console thru composite on a 60 inch 1080p screen so I'm not that concerned about pushing multiples of the resolution.

I know there are some games like SMG which have a much more demanding hardware requirement, but Ideally i'm shooting for full speed in local multiplayer games like smash and mario kart. If this hardware isn't enough for that, I'd love to hear a few suggestions as to how best to accomplish that for the least amount of money (located in US)! Thank you for welcoming me to your forum and I look forward to hearing from you guys Smile

Delay with xbox 360 controller

I'm getting like a delay when using my xbox 360 controller on the emulator for Wii games. Have not tried gamecube yet. It's not always a delay, it varies a lot but it's often buggy for me, button press can take up to 3 seconds before registering to the game. What am I doing wrong?

Super Mario Galaxy Crashes Dolphin 5.0-1245

I am having a real problem with Super Mario Galaxy. It immediately crashes Dolphin the instant I load the game and gives me the following error "Abandoned CPU thread synchronization in CPU Pauseandlock! We'll probably crash now." I have tried every graphics back end with no luck. Every other game plays fine. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there
I'm using dolphin on a huawei mediapad m3, which works very well on some games.

But i got a major graphic issue with Mario Kart Double Dash. The game itself seems to work fine but it seems like there is something like a "blue mask" over the track. Is there a solution for it or do others have the same problem?
See attachment for a screenshot.

Wired Xbox 360 Controller Not Registering

$

Hello,

I've been running into some trouble getting my wired Xbox 360 controller to register on my computer. I am running Dolphin 5.0 on my Windows 10 laptop. I have looked at several tutorial/troubleshooting videos online and can't find anyone who has addressed my specific issue. Here's what I'm doing:

- I plug in the controller to a powered USB port. I hear Windows chime to indicate that a device has been plugged in (though no message pops up), and if I press the center button on the controller, it flashes and stays on.

- In Dolphin, I click on "Controllers", select "Standard Controller" from the drop down menu, and hit "Configure." I refresh the available devices on the new drop down menu, but only "DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse" is available." In the tutorial videos, other people have the option for "xinput/0/gamepad" which allows them to begin configuring the Xbox controller - but I can't even get that far, I'm at a dead end.

- For troubleshooting, I open my device manager, see "Xbox 360 peripherals" and "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via play & charge kit." I right click and try to update the driver software but it is already up to date.

- In the search bar at the bottom of the screen, I search "game controller" and the "Set Up USB game controllers" window pops up from the control panel. The list of installed controllers is... empty - with no way to search for or add a controller.

Sooo... I don't think this is an issue with Dolphin so much as an issue with my computer not fully recognizing that an Xbox controller is plugged in. Any advice?

Open GLES 3.1 vs 3.2

I'm using a Xiaomi Mi Mix and we have still yet to receive Android Nougat with OpenGLES 3.2.

Will there be any performance enhancements with the update besides when Vulkan is implemented ?

I have seen videos of the OnePlus 3T which appears to outperform the Mix by a substantial amount, would I also experience these improvements with the update ?

Texture Pack Not Loading

I tried installing the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door texture pack from here, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've downloaded the 0.9b PNG version, and unzipped it into C:\Users\*\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures\G8M . In Dolphin, I've enabled Load Custom Textures and Prefetch Custom Textures.

Additional info:

The rom is located on C:\Program Files\Dolphin
When launching the game, Dolphin notes "Custom Textures Loaded, 0.0MB in 0.0s"

Thank you for your help!

Hey there.
Is there a way to use the l and r button as an analog one?
Super Mario sunshine doesn't make any sense without running and use the water piwtol. At the same time.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Snapdragon 835 runs Dolphin FULL SPEED!

Showing how the Galaxy S8+ Snapdragon 835 version runs every dolphin game I throw at it full speed with no framerate issues. I wanted to upload this video as I've seen lots of confusion on youtube with other videos showing slow speeds, but most of those are the shitty Exynos version of the S8 which is TERRIBLE for emulation! (My bad for the background noise! Forgot to throw some music over the video)

I've tweaked with the settings in dolphin to the point where I can play all games 100% speed for hours on end. There isn't one game I've tried that ran slow and wasn't playable, and I've tried many more gamecube games than what's shown in this video. Certain games run smoother with different settings. I'm running all these games at a higher internal resolution at 1.5x (960x792) instead of 1x (640x528). I can also get the same smooth framerates at 2x 720p (1280x1056) resolution in dolphin settings. My S8+ is running in performance mode at 2960x1440. I've done lots of testing and all PAL versions of the games run much smoother than NTSC versions. Thanks for watching and grab yourself a galaxy S8 for dolphin emulator full speed!! (SNAPDRAGON 835 VERSION ONLY!)

Emulated Wiimote - Nunchuck Swing Not Working on Mac

$

Hi All,

I'm attempting to play Spectrobes: Origins on Dolphin 5.0 running on macOS, and everything is working great except for one thing: Nunchuck swings. I'm setting up an emulated wiimote using my keyboard and mouse, and when I press the buttons I've registered for nunchuck swings, the grey dot moves but never turns red. Shaking is working, and tilting is unconfirmed. With the game running, I've tried every combination of input I can think to get it to recognize a swing, but no luck.

Anyone know what's going on here? And if not, could we open this up as an official issue on Dolphin 5.0?

My configuration:
